Are there any fees associated with DriveSense?
Participating in DriveSense is free (it's there to save you money, not cost you more).
Will my privacy be maintained?
Can I stop participating in the program? What happens if I stop?
You can opt out of the program anytime by calling us at 1-888-974-3543. If you opt out, you'll no longer be eligible for the discount, but your Esurance car insurance policy will not otherwise be affected.
How much will my discount be?
Your discount will be personalized to you based on how safely you drive. Of course, this means if you don't drive safely, you'll earn a smaller discount. You can find an estimate of how much you could save on your next term by logging into your account.
When will I receive my discount?
You'll automatically receive a discount when you sign up for DriveSense. After your first policy renewal, you could begin seeing your personalized discount based on your driving habits.
Could I ever lose my discount?
You'll no longer be eligible for the discount if you decide to opt out of the program or if you uninstall the DriveSense mobile app from your smartphone. Also note that your discount is based on driving habits, and that you'll need to log at least 50 trips during each term in order to save.
How can I maximize my discount?
The discount is based on your driving, which means the safer you drive, the more you could save. Plus, the more drivers you enroll, the bigger your discount could be, so make sure all the drivers on your policy are signed up.

How does the DriveSense app work?
Be sure your phone battery's charged and GPS location services are enabled before each trip.
Do I need to open the app each time I drive?
Nope, the app will automatically detect when your car's in motion and begin recording your trip. It may take a few minutes for the app to register the start and end of a trip.
What if I'm a passenger? Will the app think I'm driving?
If you're not driving, the app may still record trip information. Simply put the app in standby mode and specify the period of time you don't plan to drive. This feature is particularly handy if you bike, use public transit, or travel regularly.
Is the DriveSense app compatible with my smartphone?
For Apple users, the app is compatible with iPhone 5s and up running iOS 10 or later. It's also compatible with any device running Android 5.0 or above.
What if I get a new phone?
It's easy! All you have to do is download the DriveSense app from the App Store or Play Store on your new phone, and log into the app using your DriveSense login.
