Esurance's design and social media teams earn praise

Ragan and PR Daily, leading sources of news about public relations, marketing, and social media, honored Esurance with 2 Ace Awards for communication excellence.

Our design team was recognized for the clean simplicity of our how-to video series. And our social media team was praised for the value they provide to Esurance customers, for giving priority to useful content over sales, and for our rapid response times to customer inquiries (the fastest in the industry).

IMCA Innovation Torchbearer Award

Esurance named the 2013 winner

The Insurance Marketing & Communications Association (IMCA) named Esurance the 2013 winner of its annual Innovation Torchbearer Award.

This award recognizes companies or individuals that have strongly influenced the insurance industry through innovative programs or ideas. Nomination criteria included the international or national impact of the innovation, its effect on particular insurance segments, and how well it was executed within the creative strategy.

Esurance is honored for Best Use of Facebook

This brand-new awards program focuses specifically on social media efforts. Esurance was named the winner in the Best Use of Facebook category.

We were recognized for our "Star Trek: Into Darkness" campaign, which featured exclusive video content, a chance to win a trip to the film premiere, a Vulcanizer app that let visitors transform themselves into Vulcans, and a giveaway of 30,000 movie tickets. The Star Trek Facebook tab earned 627,592 visits and gave us tens of thousands of new followers.

2013 InformationWeek 500

Esurance Named to 2013 InformationWeek 500 List

For the third year in a row, Esurance made the InformationWeek 500, an annual listing of the nation's most innovative business technology users. This year, we ranked #28 (up from #186 last year) and came in second out of 41 insurance companies.

Esurance was recognized for our mobile innovations, winning praise for our Express Lane™ feature that pre-fills data so customers can get a personalized insurance quote faster. Also lauded was our photo claims feature, which lets policyholders speed up their claims by using our mobile app to submit photos of the damage for appraisal.

2013 Bay Area's Healthiest Employers Award

Esurance Named One of the Bay Area's Healthiest Employers

The Silicon Valley Business Journal and San Francisco Business Times recognized Esurance for the innovation and leadership we demonstrate in our Esurance Wellness Program. We were awarded the #18 spot in the midsize company category (100-499 employees).

Our Wellness Program slogan is "be well, whole, happy." Over the last year, we've helped our associates do just that through our monthly fitness newsletter, our 401(k) financial fitness meetings, and our Wellness Incentives Program, which offers up to $200 for participating in activities that support good health.

NJBIZ New Jersey's Best Places to Work

For the second year running, Esurance has earned a top spot among New Jersey's finest workplaces.

To determine the winners, NJBIZ evaluates workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems, and demographics. Then they seek input directly from candidates' employees. And we're proud to say that our associates in New Jersey love being part of the Esurance team!

PR Daily Corporate Social Responsibility Award – Best Cause Branding

Ragan's PR Daily — a news site covering public relations, marketing, and social media — acknowledged Esurance's continuing support of The Trevor Project with a Best Cause Branding award.

Our 2012 campaign supported The Trevor Project's "NTL" movement, which seeks to promote human interaction in an increasingly digital world.

We asked Facebook users to add their profile pictures to a photo mosaic that formed the "NTL" acronym, giving a face to the many supporters of the LGBTQ community. As a thanks, we donated $10 to The Trevor Project for each uploaded photo. With the help of friends and fans, we reached our $50,000 donation goal in 8 weeks.

2012 InformationWeek 500

Esurance named to 2012 InformationWeek 500

Esurance has again made the InformationWeek 500, an annual listing of the nation's most innovative users of business technology.

In its second consecutive year on the list, Esurance has continued to embrace virtualization and cloud computing to keep pace with the company's rapid growth and make buying and managing car insurance easier.

Through Esurance's technology efforts, consumers visiting the Esurance website enjoy a faster, more streamlined experience than before. Additionally, these innovations will help Esurance more easily bring new products and services to market and expand into new states.

The Customer Respect Group

Esurance website named Best in Class

The Customer Respect Group, an international research and consulting firm focused on how corporations treat their online customers, recently announced the findings of their auto insurance industry study "Auto-Insurers Online Self-Service Report 2012: Leaders and Laggards." The study evaluated the websites of 20 leading auto insurance companies, ranking the sites based on how successful a customer would be in finding desired content through the site's navigation and search tools.

And we're pretty excited to announce that esurance.com took the top honors. See, we really are making car insurance easier. Thanks for noticing, Customer Respect Group.

Tampa Bay Times Top Workplaces – 2012

Esurance Earns a Spot as a Top Workplace in Tampa Bay

For the third year running, Esurance is named one of the "Tampa Bay Times Top Workplaces."

"This award shows that Esurance is a great workplace where associates can build rewarding careers," said Sandy Hynes, Esurance vice president of human resources.

The evaluation process for this program uses survey feedback from employees to assess a company's values and culture. As part of the survey, employees answer questions on several topics, including practices and policies that make the company one of the best places to work.

Esurance earned the 2012 "Best Places to Work in New Jersey" distinction based on its policies, practices, systems, and associate satisfaction.

Associates think Esurance is a great place to work because of its supportive coworkers, strong management team, culture, and bright future. They also value perks like the casual dress code, flex time, and PTO for volunteering. The award validates Esurance's efforts to create an inclusive workplace that rewards individual achievement and promotes personal development.

TXU Energy Partnership Award

Esurance Wins 2012 TXU Energy Partnership Award

Esurance has won the 2012 TXU Energy Partnership Award for its support of Texas Trees Foundation. This award honors the company's continued commitment to community enrichment through tree plantings, education, and outreach.

A proud sponsor of Texas Trees Foundation since 2005, Esurance has contributed to many of the foundation's initiatives, from supporting seedling planting projects and the Hamilton Park Urban Tree Farm to assisting with educational outreach efforts like the Trees & Technology high school program. Through it all, Esurance's focus has always been on helping make local communities a little better and a little greener.

Esurance Wins 2011 Earnie Award

Esurance won PR Newswire's inaugural Earnie award in the "Best Connection to Twitter, LinkedIn, or Facebook Audience" category. The award honors Esurance for our creative social media campaign supporting The Trevor Project, an organization dedicated to helping LGBTQ youth.

The Earnie award recognizes excellence in earned (as opposed to paid) media. A panel of expert judges selected Esurance as a finalist, and community voting confirmed us as the winner based on the strategy, creativity, and overall "awesomeness" of our campaign.

InformationWeek 500 – 2011

InformationWeek, the leading news and information source for business IT, recognized Esurance for our cutting-edge mobile apps that simplify the car insurance process from quote to claim.

The InformationWeek 500 rankings are unique among corporate rankings as they spotlight the power of innovation in information technology, rather than simply identifying the biggest IT spenders. "This year's ranking placed special emphasis on those high-octane business technology innovators," said InformationWeek Editor in Chief Rob Preston.

Bay Area Workplace Diversity Award – 2011

In recognition of our commitment to diversity in the workplace, Clear Channel has named Esurance a recipient of its first-ever Bay Area Workplace Diversity Award. The award acknowledges Esurance's efforts to create and maintain a workplace where diversity and equality thrive.

To earn such recognition, Bay Area companies must score a 100-percent rating in The Human Rights Campaign's Corporate Equality Index, promote workplace diversity and inclusion in their advertising, or create appropriate and respectful advertising, promotions, or public service campaigns aimed at LGBT audiences.

Top Workplaces – 2011

For the 2nd year in a row the St. Petersburg Times recognized Esurance as being one of the Top Workplaces in Tampa Bay, with Esurance ranked 11th among midsized companies. The award distinguishes Esurance as a dynamic, inclusive, and diverse workplace where individual achievement is rewarded and personal growth fostered.

2011 REBRAND 100 Global Awards – 2011

The REBRAND 100 Global Awards is the first and highest worldwide recognition of its kind. Open to all rebrands launched anywhere in the world between January 2008 and September 2010, the competition showcases "the repositioning, revitalizing and redesign of existing brand assets to meet business goals."

Esurance joined ranks with companies from 36 countries, including titans like AUDI, the YMCA, and the United States Mint, to be honored for our focused and effective brand transformations.

Human Rights Campaign

100% for LGBT Equality – October 7, 2010

For the fourth year in a row, Esurance achieved a perfect score on The Human Rights Campaign's Corporate Equality Index. The Human Rights Campaign Foundation, the largest national lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) civil rights organization, evaluates businesses on their LGBT-related policies and practices, including non-discrimination policies, diversity training, equal benefits, and community involvement. Through our commitment to diversity and inclusion, Esurance has earned the distinction of being one of the best places to work for LGBT equality for the past 4 years.

Better Business Bureau

Silver Award of Distinction – 2010

The Better Business Bureau honored Esurance at the 2010 Integrity Awards with a Silver Award of Distinction. Esurance "demonstrated, through the application process, that they placed a high priority on honesty and integrity in the marketplace," stated BBB Communications Director Margo Riekes. "They also serve as an ambassador for quality customer service, and the BBB is proud to make this special designation."

St. Petersburg Times

Top Places to Work – 2010

The St. Petersburg Times recognized Esurance as a 2010 Top Place to Work in the Tampa Bay Area. To determine the results, the Times conducted an online survey in which more than 80% of Esurance Tampa associates participated.

ADDY Awards – 2010

Esurance was recognized by the Greater San Francisco Ad Club with 2 Silver ADDY Awards. Both ADDYs were awarded for green-themed promotions, including a Silver ADDY for the Climate Action Month poster campaign, and another Silver for Tweets for Trees in the non-traditional advertising category.

StrongMail, in its most-recent Email Breakthrough Report, recognized Esurance as Best in Class in the Financial Services category for our 2009 insurance quote email campaign. The campaign was noted for its simple, effective layout and strong brand integration. Best in Class winners are chosen based on "outstanding content and creative execution, application of sophisticated email technology, use of innovative digital marketing techniques, and a commitment to an exceptional user experience."

"Model Insurer" – Celent

Celent, a financial services technology research and advisory firm, named Esurance a "Model Insurer" for implementing an innovative Claims First Notice of Loss program, and for "achieving self-service claims with vendor technology," while retaining company-specific look and feel.

Halo Awards

Two Silver Halo Awards – 2008

The Cause Marketing Forum awarded Esurance with 2 Silver Halo Awards, for Best Joint Message Promotion and Best Environmental/Wildlife Campaign. Both awards honor our contributions to Live Earth's Save Our Selves (SOS) Campaign for a Climate in Crisis. The Halo Awards honor excellence in marketing campaigns that promote a brand, while raising awareness for a good cause.

Esurance also received Silver Communicator Awards in the Insurance Web Site and Online Video categories. The Online Video Award was for the Get Animated Talent Search, the contest that produced two new animated co-stars for Erin Esurance.

Advertising Icon Museum

Erin Esurance has joined legendary advertising figures in the Ad Icon Museum!

The museum will house a statue of Erin Esurance, along with materials about how she was created, and featured ads and placements. As a collection of icons throughout the years, the museum's mission is to offer a world-class experience that inspires, informs, and entertains visitors. We're proud to have Erin involved.

INNovators Awards – 2008, 2009

Recognized by Insurance Networking News as a Top 20 INNovator in 2008, Esurance earned Top 10 status in 2009 for self-service claims. The INNovators Awards, "a formal recognition intended to advance the spread of business technology acumen in the insurance industry," has honored Esurance 2 years in a row for its continued innovation in the online auto insurance field.

EPA Green Power Partnership

Member of the EPA Green Power Leadership Club – 2008, 2009

Becoming a member of the Green Power Leadership Club is a distinction awarded to Green Power Partners that far exceed the minimum purchase requirements. The minimum "green power purchase" required to join the Partnership is 6%, and the total to join the Leadership Club is 60%. Esurance exceeded both goals by purchasing 100% green power in 2008 and 72% green power in 2009. We offset the additional 28% of our power through NativeEnergy by supporting new carbon offsetting projects. Find out more.

The Greening of Detroit honored Esurance for years of valuable service and generous support with the Gold Trowel Award. As one of our favorite green orgs in the nation, The Greening of Detroit has helped create an explosion of green spaces throughout the city. For the second straight year, Esurance was named an Official Honoree of the Webby Awards. Fewer than 15% of nearly 8,000 applicants were distinguished as Official Honorees. "To be selected among the best is an incredible achievement worthy of praise — and perhaps a little bragging," according to the Webby Awards Honorees page. Don't mind if we do!

Communicator Awards

Gold & Silver Communicator Awards
2008

Esurance was the proud recipient of several Communicator Awards. Esurance's 30-second TV spot, "Paul Gets Animated," featuring an actual customer interacting with Erin Esurance, won a gold for video excellence, honoring the work of Esurance's in-house creative talent and its long-standing partner, the award- winning animation studio, W!LDBRAIN. Esurance was also pleased to receive silver awards of distinction for: music/jingle in a baseball-themed commercial, "Take Me Out to the Ballgame;" branded content for "Carbon Copy," a long-form adventure starring Erin Esurance; Erin Esurance-themed bus wraps; and the company's auto insurance website.
