Texas Trees Foundation and Esurance Plant Trees for
Skyline High School
Dallas, TX — November 11, 2008
Texas Trees Foundation (TTF), a non-profit organization dedicated to "greening North Central Texas," announced Skyline High School to be the recipient of "The Learning Tree Greener Schools Planting" today.
The school planting for Skyline High School was funded by Esurance, a direct-to-consumer car insurance company, and gives students a chance to apply classroom environmental education in an outdoor setting. This applied hands-on educational opportunity models sustainable education and helps create better stewards of the land. On Friday,
November 14, Esurance volunteers from the local Dallas office will team up with Foundation members and Skyline High School students to plant 30 trees on the campus grounds. The trees were obtained from the Texas Trees Foundation Esurance Hamilton Park Urban Tree Farm. This tree farm is one of 2 where more than 68,000 trees are grown to plant throughout North Central Texas.
Kristin Brewe, Esurance's director of brand and public relations stated, "As a company, it's important to support the communities where our associates and customers live and work, like the Dallas area. We are pleased to work with the Foundation in ensuring that vital programs like The Learning Tree Greener Schools Planting continue to bring schools, kids, and communities together to create livable communities and future stewards of the land."
