FAQ: How Esurance Handles Your Claim
After I make a claim can I take my car to my own body shop?
A car accident can be a stressful time in your life. The last thing you need is to have your auto insurance company tell you where you can and can't take your car to be repaired. Once you've filed your auto insurance claim, you can take your car anywhere you like for repairs, as long as the facility can provide a repair estimate.
In most cases, we find that it's more efficient to have the body shop appraise your damage and send it to our appraisers. Our appraisers then review these estimates online and then send them electronically to your claims representative for payment.
If you have a body shop that you trust, they can start repairing your car as soon as you report your auto insurance claim.
However, if you don't have a preferred body shop, we can help you locate a shop that's close to your home or work with one of the many shops around the country that are affiliated with Esurance.
Estimates written by shops affiliated with us are free. Our appraisers review these estimates online and then send them electronically to your claims representative for payment. If you choose to have your vehicle repaired at one of the shops affiliated with us, it's likely that you'll get your auto insurance claim resolved faster.
Whether your body shop is one of your favorites or one of ours, you'll find that your auto insurance claim will be processed quickly and fairly when you're an Esurance policyholder. In fact, auto insurance claims are often processed within just 15 days, which means you'll receive your claims check in no time. If you're on the go, you've got to have Esurance!
