Some things (like the time-honored recipe for Tennessee whiskey) are perfect just as they are. Your motorcycle policy, on the other hand, benefits from some savvy additions. On top of basic liability insurance, you can bolster your protection with helpful motorcycle coverages.
Collision and comprehensive coverage
If you cause an accident, collision coverage goes toward repairing your motorcycle. Meanwhile, comprehensive coverage helps repair your bike after non-collision incidents (like vandalism or getting struck by falling debris) and can help replace your hog if it's ever stolen.
Uninsured motorist coverage
More than 1 in 5 drivers in Tennessee are uninsured, one of the largest ratios in the country, so it only makes sense to want some added protection. With uninsured motorist coverage, you can take to the road knowing that if you're struck by an uninsured driver, you won't have to face daunting injury bills on your own.
And if an accident caused by an uninsured driver also leaves your motorcycle banged up, uninsured motorist property damage coverage will kick in to help you make the repairs.
Medical payments coverage
This coverage is a real lifeline if you or your passengers suffer injuries while riding — especially if you have less-than-stellar health insurance.
Enhanced injury protection
When you select medical payments coverage, you can also add enhanced injury protection. This provides even more help when recovering from accidents, including income replacement (up to a weekly limit) in case you need to take time off work following injuries.
Optional equipment coverage
Taking great care of your motorcycle deserves a reward. That's why when you purchase collision and comprehensive in Tennessee, we'll automatically add $3,000 worth of coverage for your bike's bells and whistles, such as custom paint, cargo racks, saddlebags, and more. And if you want even more coverage for your optional equipment, you can select higher limits (up to $30,000).
Personal contents coverage
Cargo space has come a long way since your grandfather's chopper — some models can easily fit a suitcase or 2! And if items stored in your bike, such as camping equipment, electronics, or safety gear, are damaged or stolen, you'll be glad you have personal contents coverage to help repair or replace them.
You must have collision and comprehensive to select this coverage.
Trip interruption coverage
A mechanical failure or covered incident doesn't have to derail your motorcycle voyage. If you're in a sticky spot more than 100 miles from home, trip interruption coverage provides:
- $100 for lodging
- $50 for alternate transportation
- $50 for food
And that's per day until your bike is fixed ($500 limit per incident).
Towing and labor coverage
If you have a breakdown or accident within 100 feet of the road, we offer up to $100 for towing and on-site maintenance, such as battery jumps.
Transport trailer coverage
This coverage goes toward repairing trailers damaged while toting around your motorcycle, ATV, or other covered vehicles.
