Mica - techie (programmer)

A young and motivated programmer, Mica knows she's a woman in
a man's tech world, and works hard to prove herself. She's good at
her job and isn't shy about speaking up when she knows there's a
better way to do something. Mica has a playful "feud" going with
Frank, who is the jokester among the customer service reps. Frank
delights in trying to get under Mica's skin by making bold statements
about how much money he can save customers compared to the
Esurance website.

Most prized possession: A hot pink calculator watch (worn
ironically, of course)
Hobbies: Writes song parodies in her spare time. Her most recent
composition is "Girls Just Wanna Write Code."

Frank - feely Back to home
Frank - feely (customer service rep)

Frank, AKA "The Saver," is always ready with a snappy one-liner.
Though his antics often produce groans from his coworkers,
Frank's customers appreciate his upbeat attitude and sense of
humor on the phone. Frank tries to draw out more soft-spoken
colleagues with his gregarious attitude and, for better or worse,
he has been known to spontaneously break into song at the office.

Fiercely proud of his ability to save his customers money, Frank
dubbed himself "The Saver." Most of his colleagues have
embraced this loving self-tribute, with the notable exception of Mica.

Favorite novelty item: Squirting lapel flower (you've got to
respect the classics)
Currently reading: Customer Service Reps Are from Mars,
Techies Are from Venus
Words to live by: "You can pick your friends and you can pick
your nose. But you can't pick your friend's nose."

Chad - feely Back to home
Chad - feely (dedicated claims rep)

Soft-spoken and totally in touch with his feelings, Chad is fully
attuned to the needs of others. When he's not interpreting
dreams or perfecting new mantras, Chad is walking Esurance
customers through every step of the car insurance claims
process.

As a dedicated claims rep, it's his job to know everything about
a customer's claim and see it through to the end. A kind of
father figure to the customer service team, Chad often
serenades the office (much to their chagrin) with a soothing
new-age melody on his beloved didgeridoo.

Favorite book: The Zen of Customer Service in the Car

Most prized possession: Hand-carved didgeridoo, "a gift from
my shaman"
Spirit animal: A starry-eyed elk at twilight basking amidst the
sylvan hills

Sanjeev - techie Back to home
Sanjeev - techie (programmer)

Sanjeev is a brilliant young programmer who trusts his coworkers
completely. This makes him a great team player. Unfortunately
for him, it sometimes makes him the target of office hijinx, as he has
a tendency to be a bit gullible. Of course it's all in good fun.

Sanjeev is most proud of the online repair monitoring function that
he helped implement on the Esurance site where customers can
see their car repairs in progress online.

Sanjeev lives in a world of algorithms and code and much to his
dismay, Chad is constantly trying to help him get in touch with
his feelings. Sanjeev likes his feelings right where they are, thank
you.

Hobbies: Writing poems in binary code, "playing a role-playing
game of my own invention in which I am a powerful wizard with a
magical bag of spells hidden in my moustache"

Nick - techie Back to home
Nick - techie (programmer)

Nick is the self-styled "leader" of the techies, although the others
don't necessarily see him that way. Very self-assured and confident
in his abilities, Nick is fiercely proud of the Esurance site and
isn't shy about saying as much to anyone who will listen. He has an
offbeat sense of humor and is often the ringleader of office hijinx.

One of his favorite gags is affectionately known as "The Robot."
Whenever someone (usually one of the customer service reps)
brings up the value of talking to customers over the phone versus
using the website, Nick and the entire techie team start acting like
malfunctioning robots. They find it hilarious. Others, not so much.

Most prized possession: Bluetooth headset that looks like it's
attached to his head. You know, like a cyborg.
Personal heroes: Himself and anyone who chooses to style
themselves in his image.

Joey - techie Back to home
Joey - techie (programmer)

Joey has no trouble fitting in as "one of the guys." Her sense of
humor and no-nonsense attitude (not to mention her programming
skills) help her feel right at home with even the most hardcore techies.

Joey likes to tease Sanjeev, but at the same time, she's quite
protective — like a big sister who doesn't want anyone else
messing with him.

Joey in her own words: "Nick likes to think he's the engine of the
tech department. But an engine can't run without gas. And I've
got a lot of gas. Wait, that came out wrong..."
Favorite song: "Whip It" by DEVO

Charlie - feely Back to home
Charlie - feely (dedicated claims rep)

With so many strong personalities around him, on both the
customer service and technology sides, Charlie often finds
himself as the voice of reason. Usually kind of a neutral party, he
tries to avoid taking sides in the friendly rivalry between customer
service and the website team (though, there are times when he
can't resist throwing in a well-timed quip).

As a Dedicated Claims Rep, Charlie works closely with Chad, who
is constantly encouraging Charlie to explore the astral plane with
a cleansing spirit journey. Charlie always declines — politely, of
course.

In his spare time: Charlie spends his weekends with his
wife and young kids.

Babs - feely Back to home
Babs - feely (customer service rep)

The longest-tenured member of the customer service team, Babs
has been with Esurance since the very beginning. Babs has
worked in insurance her whole career. She really knows the ropes
and cares deeply about her customers. She loves mingling with
the techies to see all the "cool new gadgets" they're working on
for the website. She particularly enjoys visiting Nick to see if she
can rile him up somehow.

In her spare time, Babs decorates custom hats and t-shirts to give
to friends and family. Her favorite is a bedazzled baseball cap
emblazoned with the slogan "No desire to retire."

Hobbies: Aside from her well-known hat-making prowess, Babs
is also renowned for her baking. Her Bundt cake is world famous,
and a plate of her Snickerdoodles once caused a stampede into
the company kitchen.

Samantha - feely Back to home
Samantha - feely (customer service rep)

Samantha is a sweet, young customer service rep with a cheery
disposition. Fresh out of college, this is her first foray into the
working world, and she couldn't be more excited to jump right in
and help her customers.

Samantha looks to Brenda as a role model (much to Brenda's
dismay) and she has recently taken a shine to New Guy whom
she frequently calls over to her desk to help her with "this
computer thingy," which is odd because Samantha minored in
Computer Science. Ah, love.

Samantha in her own words: "I wish I could be more like
Brenda. She's so popular — like a prom queen."

Proudest accomplishment: First place, 8th-grade spelling bee.

Thomas - techie Back to home
Thomas - techie (programmer)

Thomas is the lovable, shy, round guy. He enjoys the techies'
antics, but he's not the ringleader. A bit more sensitive than your
average tech guy, Thomas won't hesitate to jump in and help
when he sees others in need.

Even though they've only known each other a short time, Thomas
and New Guy have bonded over their love of technology and sci-fi
movies. In fact, Thomas may be the only one who knows New
Guy's real name — but he'll never tell.

Thomas in his own words: "Heck, I don't really know what to
say. Hi Mom!"

Hobbies: Collecting vintage '80s video games and action figures.

New Guy - techie Back to home
New Guy - techie (programmer)

New Guy is, well, the new guy. He desperately wants to fit in with
the other techies and takes every opportunity to insert himself into
whatever's going on.

Though he's only been there a short time, New Guy has already
bonded with Thomas. Their shared love of technology and
science fiction make them a perfect duo. New Guy has also made
quite an impression on Samantha, a sweet, young customer
service rep, who finds him "dreamy."

New Guy in his own words: "Doesn't anybody here know my
name yet?"

Hobby: In his spare time, he writes sci-fi fantasy stories with a
car insurance theme. Oddly, he hasn't found a publisher yet.

Brenda - feely Back to home
Brenda - feely (customer service rep)

Brenda is a straight shooter. She tells it like it is. As the mother of
teenagers, she feels like she can handle anything life throws at her,
and then some. She sees herself as someone who knows how to
take care of other people and isn't afraid to go for the "tough love"
approach.

Brenda pretends to be annoyed that Samantha sees her as a role
model, but in reality, she's quite flattered. She'd never tell Samantha
that, though. And you won't say anything either, if you know what's
good for you.

Brenda in her own words: "I'm the mama bear, and my customers
are my cubs. Believe me, you don't want to come between a mama
bear and her cubs."

Prized possession: Her minivan's license plate — "1TUFFMAMA"
