FAQ: Getting a Quote

What if there are more drivers than cars in my household, and I can't match each driver to one car?

Does your family constantly fight over who gets to use the car on Friday nights? Having more drivers than cars can be complicated when you're trying to plan social activities, but when it comes to online auto insurance quotes, it's a cinch!

When you get a quote from Esurance, we'll ask you to match drivers to each car on your policy. Each person's name will be listed under each car and you must select whether that person is the “primary driver” or an “occasional driver” for that car. Select "primary driver" for the driver who drives a given car the most. Each car must have one— and only one— primary driver. All other drivers should be considered occasional drivers. Likewise, one driver cannot be the primary driver of more than one car unless there are more cars than drivers on the policy.

In order to receive a more accurate online auto insurance quote, it's important that you give an estimate of who drives each car the most. In many states, Esurance offers a multi-car/multi-driver discount. This discount will automatically be factored into your quote if you're eligible.

At Esurance we may not be able to solve family disputes, but we can make getting online auto insurance quotes and buying your policy easy. Get one, or several, online auto insurance quotes today to see if you can save with Esurance!
