FAQ: General Auto Insurance Claims Info

What should I do if I'm the victim of fraud?

When you're in an accident you have a lot to worry about. In addition to dealing with injury, car damage, and filing an auto insurance claim, you may also have to deal with auto insurance fraud. Unfortunately, fraudulent auto insurance claims are relatively common.

Esurance is committed to fighting auto insurance fraud. If you think you're a victim of fraud, put Esurance's Special Investigations Unit on the case.

The most common forms of auto insurance fraud include:

  • Buying a policy after an incident has occurred
  • Falsely reporting a vehicle as stolen
  • Claiming more damage than actually occurred
  • Intentionally causing auto accidents or vehicle damage
  • Submitting phony injury claims or inflated medical bills
  • Misrepresenting application information

Our Special Investigations Unit aggressively investigates and pursues suspicious activity. We refer cases to law enforcement agencies, which can lead to arrest, prosecution, and restitution. Fraud in any form is illegal, so be sure to report suspicious behavior immediately.

Our claims service specialists are available round-the-clock to take your calls and process your auto insurance claim quickly. For more information on fraud, visit Esurance Fights Fraud—You Can Too!
