How do I update the cars on my policy?
With the popularity of car leasing, it seems as though people are slipping into something new every couple years. Sometimes it's just a newer model of the same car, but other times we splurge and go for that sports car we fantasize about. Whether you're planning for a family or a midlife crisis, it's important to keep your car insurance policy updated. Fortunately, when you're an Esurance policyholder, keeping your policy current is easy!
Changing the car(s) listed on your auto insurance policy takes only minutes. After you log into your policy, you'll see a summary of your account info. If you need to change your car's information or remove a car, click on the "edit cars" button.
To add a car to your policy, simply click on the "add car" button and fill in the new car's information. You can also edit your car info by going to the "Cars" tab at the top of the page.
Your car insurance policy rates can change based on the type of car you drive. For instance, if you decided to trade in your SUV for a hybrid, you could see a decrease in your premium. On the other hand, if you've gone from a 4-door sedan to a flashy red sports car, chances are you'll pay more for your auto insurance.
