How do I file my travel trailer insurance claim?

Filing your travel trailer insurance claim is quick and easy. Just log into your policy anytime. You'll be able to enter all the necessary information there, and a knowledgeable claims rep will contact you to answer your questions and schedule an inspection.

What info will I need to file my travel trailer insurance claim?

Gather as much info at the scene as possible. If you were in an accident, you'll need contact and insurance info, including policy numbers, of any other drivers involved, as well as names, addresses, and phone numbers of any witnesses. If the police or other respondents came to your aid, the police report number and names of respondents will come in handy as well. If you have a camera on hand, take some photos of the damage and the scene.

For a non-collision incident, such as a fire or theft, you'll need police or fire department report numbers and, again, the names of respondents.

Do auto repair shops also fix travel trailers?

While you may be able to find an auto shop that services trailers, it's best to find a shop that specializes in travel trailers. Given trailers' size and extra features, many basic auto shops aren't equipped to provide comprehensive travel trailer services. Your claims rep will be happy to point you in the direction of reputable local repair shops.

Will my travel trailer insurance help me replace a stolen trailer?

If you have comprehensive coverage, yes. When you bought comprehensive coverage, you also selected one of 3 total-loss options: market value, agreed value, or total loss replacement/purchase price. The option you selected will determine how much you are reimbursed.

Will my travel trailer insurance help me replace a totaled trailer?

This is another area where total loss coverage kicks in. If the cost to repair damage, or to replace damaged parts, exceeds the value of your travel trailer, you’ll receive a sum defined by your policy’s total loss coverage.

If you selected total loss replacement/purchase price and your lost trailer was under 5 years old, you’ll get a new travel trailer. Otherwise, you’ll receive the trailer’s purchase price as defined on your declarations page (the page on your policy that summarizes your insurance coverage).
