Filing your claim

How do I file a claim?

You can file your claim with Progressive, our ATV insurance partner, any time of the day. (Esurance doesn't underwrite or provide claims support on ATV insurance policies.) In many cases, you can access your policy online and file a claim directly. A knowledgeable claims rep will then get in touch to answer all your questions and set up an appointment to inspect the damage.

What info will I need to file my claim?

The more information you have, the better. If you were involved in an accident with other riders, follow the same procedures as a car accident. Get the contact info, insurance info (including their policy numbers), and license numbers of any other riders involved as well as the names, addresses, and phone numbers of all witnesses. Keep a camera or camera-equipped phone on you at all times so you can snap some pics of the scene too. Once you have all that info, you can file your claim with Progressive.

How soon should I file my claim?

Will my ATV insurance policy cover me if my vehicle is stolen?

Yes, as long as you have comprehensive coverage. Besides theft, comprehensive coverage also protects you against non-collision incidents such as fire and vandalism.

My ATV was totaled. Will my policy cover that?

Yes, if you have total loss coverage, which generally costs around $25 a year. Total loss coverage will pay the manufacturer's suggested retail price for a current model year ATV of the same make and model. If you do not have total loss coverage, actual cash value coverage will reimburse you for the present-day value of your ATV after a covered total loss. If you have a vintage ATV, your agreed value coverage will help you cover the cost of replacing a totaled ATV.
