Additionally, Esurance was awarded the Spirit & Awareness Award by EarthCorps volunteers and staff members.

  • Greening of Detroit — Detroit, MI

    The Greening of Detroit

The Greening of Detroit creates a greener Detroit through tree plantings and related educational programs, as well as through environmental leadership and advocacy. Together with Esurance and other corporate sponsors, the organization plants trees in neighborhoods, schoolyards, and parks throughout Detroit, Highland Park, and Hamtramck.

Esurance has sponsored several events with The Greening of Detroit since 2007, including the Big Gig St. Patty's Volunteer Recruiting Event and the Adopt-a-School Project. The recruiting event led to a record volunteer season, with over 700 people participating in the first year alone. The Greening of Detroit honored Esurance for years of valuable service and generous support with the Gold Trowel Award.

  • NativeEnergy — Nationwide

    NativeEnergy

NativeEnergy became an Esurance partner in March 2009, when we offset the carbon emissions from policyholders' vehicles as part of our sponsorship of the World Wildlife Fund's Earth Hour. Since then, we've expanded the partnership to include consulting on our sustainability programs and NativeEnergy provides the renewable energy credits that we purchase to offset the electricity used in each of our office locations.

Additionally, in April 2010, they wrote a guest post for the Esurance blog —
3 Ways to Drive Down Your CARbon Footprint.

  • Recycled Rides — Nationwide

    Recycled Rides

Recycled Rides is a community awareness project that donates "recycled" vehicles to families and service organizations in need. The program recruits auto body shops, insurers, paint suppliers, and parts vendors to contribute in their own specific ways.

Esurance began partnering with Recycled Rides in 2008 with the goal of donating 10 vehicles per year. By the end of 2009 we'd donated a total of 19 vehicles, and on May 27, 2010, we presented a disabled veteran and his family with a much-needed vehicle.
