Erin Esurance Agent Log – December 27, 2006
Year-End Activity Report

Hi HQ. Here you are. My year-end SIU report. Yes, I know it definitely has been a while and it's against the rules to go so long. Saving the world from evil and helping people save time and money on auto insurance often prohibit me from agent communication.

It doesn't leave you a lot of time for making words about any highlight. (Sorry about this delay!) Screen the Erin Cam reels again and you'll find that the latest efforts of the bad guys have made it more challenging for a girl like me to help make the planet a little greener.

I've heard from several field agents since my last report. Turns out, our special agents aren't just masters at breaking secret messages. They're also pretty creative! Take a chance to review an excellent story from a Rhode Island Super Sleuth, Stephanie L.

And, we've seen some work from our Oregon Special Agent T.J. before, but take a look at some new drawings of me in the field.

One of the reasons I haven't filed any reports lately is my latest mission. I've been investigating the mad plots of the world's pre-eminent evil scientist, Dr. Botanicus. Word on the street is that he's having some kind of mad scientist convention and masked ball. That should go down early in 2007. Don't worry: I plan to be there and will put a stop to whatever schemes they dream up.

Until my next update, which I promise will come much sooner than this one, stay safe, fight evil, and don't forget to save on your auto insurance with Esurance. (In some states, you can even save on homeowners insurance with Esurance too!)

But most importantly, have a really happy New Year! I'll be busy working on the Botanicus case, but if you have some time, keep sending me updates on my secure email!

Erin, It's the "mysterious stranger." Hopefully, you've broken this code?

You thought I wasn't a great cryptographer, but I just had to be careful not to break SIU rules about communication with agents. (Those rules are made for your safety, you know. If we don't know each other, your identity can't be compromised in the event of my capture.)

My name is Erik, and I've been watching out for you since day one. You're definitely my favorite assignment. You've made it very tough to protect you, especially when you thought I was one of the bad guys. I've had to: pretend to be a car salesman, hide from you with hats and helmets, act like a guy who's trying to romance you, and mostly, feign a lot of interest in auto insurance! Admittedly, some roles are easier than others to play.
?

When you get the coordinates for the mad scientist convention, let me know and I'll be there. For 2007, Special Agent, here's a New Year's resolution for you: keep your reports a little more current.? Anyway, I just wanted to break protocol to wish you a happy New Year.

Subject: Quarterly Activity Report

HQ, hope this finds you well. Seems like the baddies are on the move again, so I'm sure you've been even busier than I have. Not that I've had a summer vacation by any stretch of the imagination.

You'll be pleased to hear that several field agents have shown themselves to be masters of cryptography. Two, in particular, merit special mention—April G. & Dan C. They may even be more skilled than some of the folks at Headquarters. (No offense, HQ!)

This couldn't come at a better time. Looks like we're going to need lots of help from the field over the next few months….

Since my last report, I've been circling the globe, investigating all the heat waves and other strange weather phenomenon. There appears to be a rather strange scientist linked to all this—goes by “Botanicus” or something like that. I'm getting more intel on his life and times. So far, he seems like a real wacky piece of work.

Weather-wise, a few of the science & tech guys have an interesting proposition. If this heat is going to keep up, you need to generate some snow, and lots of it. They're going to do some test runs in SF, so be on the lookout for some *cool* weather in San Francisco in early November.

Luckily, Esurance is also doing its part to beat the heat. With all the tree planting—by the company & Esurance policyholders—lots more places around the U.S. are "made in the shade." This month, Esurance has continued to celebrate the 25th anniversary of San Francisco's
Friends of the Urban Forest. (Happy Birthday, FUF!)

I'll continue to look into this Botanicus fellow and some of the sci-tech unit's ideas for saving the world. At my day job, I'll also help even more folks save some green for their wallets—with Esurance's convenient, affordable auto insurance.☺

Until my next report…be sure to send me updates on my secure email!

Subject: Reports from the Field

Hello, HQ. Since my last report, lots has been going on, both at my special agent gig with you and my deep cover day job at Esurance. An art caper with some really serious cryptography required, bad guys thwarted when they tried to steal some identity papers…you'll see it all soon when it gets decrypted and uploaded to ErinCam!

At my day job, I've been helping a lot of people with their auto insurance, and doing some good in the community too. (In SF, Esurance is doing a lot of good in the month of May by supporting organizations like Friends of the Urban Forest and YMCA Urban Services.)

Thanks to all the agents out in the field who have been keeping their eyes and ears open on my behalf! You know who you are.☺

Two people in particular deserve special mention & I like keeping in touch with them as it improves morale when I'm off for a while on missions. First, there's Jim B. down in the Lone Star State, who has some serious intel about what the bad guys are up to and how we're gonna stop them in their tracks. Second, there's TJ, who deserves big thanks for taking the time to sketch me and send it to me on my secure email, as he was monitoring ErinCam. Check it out.

And no, I haven't forgotten about all you agents who want some downloads, and I know I'll be posting those for you VERY soon.

For those of you who want me to avoid the mysterious stranger I'm always bumping into, don't worry about me. I can definitely take care of myself.☺ But thanks for looking out for me. More eyes never hurt…especially when you have a job like mine.

Once you see the new reports on ErinCam, drop me a line on my secure email and let me know what you think. Some weird things are going on, and the new tapes are definitely proof, but I sure didn't mind getting to hang out at art museums on this last mission. Especially when he turned up again. Not that I doubted he would. What I wish is that I could get to know you better, my Handler!

And I have given up on meeting you, so know that I will not try to breach protocol. That would jeopardize our safety. Though where he (that mysterious stranger) is concerned, I may breach protocol. After all, he is cute. I'll keep you posted, as always.

Until the next time…don't forget to email me, and whenever you "take a fresh look" at your auto insurance—be sure to take a fresh look at everything. It helps you figure things out, which is tough to do in this confusing world, especially when you're an insurance agent by day and a special agent by night.

Have to get back to some real work, rather than just reporting about it. (Not that I don't love filling you in about what's going on.) The bad guys are at it again with one of their "simple" plots, and I'm only beginning to crack their code. They sure don't want anyone to know about fast, friendly, affordable auto insurance at Esurance. Like they can stop that, though. It's the fastest growing auto insurance company in America.☺

Take care,

Erin Esurance Agent Log – March 29, 2006 10 a.m.
Subject: Spring’s the Thing

I've blown my New Year's resolution, to keep you updated more. Sorry 'bout that. As usual, a lot's been going on since I sent my last report. I'll run through the highlights, and then let you know where I might be turning up next. (Maybe you'll be there, Mysterious Handler☺ Though I've got to say, I've given up on ever meeting you in person! Security protocol, I know. Too bad. I'm curious.)

In early March, I was on a mission for Esurance in Dallas, Texas. As you know, Esurance auto insurance agent is my secret-cover day job, and they're a company that really works hard to "save some green." As a part of its environmental work, Esurance provides support for a great organization called Texas Trees Foundation!

Well anyway, I got to join some volunteers (including a few Esurance associates!), and we planted over 8,000 seedlings at the Hamilton Park Urban Tree farm in one day. Eventually, there will be 21,000 seedlings planted there. It was great to meet the nice folks at Texas Trees, and everyone we met in Texas could not have been friendlier.

Especially the nice people over in Fort Worth at the Fort Worth Cats, a great minor league baseball team! Fortunately, it's that time of year again. BASEBALL!! My favorite sport. This season, you should see me around some ballparks, especially the teams that Esurance supports…in Sioux Falls, in Las Vegas, in Sacramento, and in Kane County, Illinois—close to my hometown! And let's not forget my current location, San Francisco.

Esurance sent one of the Bay Area members of its Customer Advisory Board to Spring Training in Phoenix a few weeks ago. Just to say thanks for being a policyholder & for providing feedback to the company! (HQ: Any reason we can't do this for pink-haired special agents? ☺)

And, back in San Francisco, I met a really nice Esurance policyholder the other day, on my way back to HQ. He'd been with Esurance for over 2 years, and said so many nice things about his auto insurance experience with Esurance. So I'd like to say a really big thank you to Rafael in SF!

It's nice that my deep cover job is with a company that seems to make people so happy. Even though it's auto insurance, a pretty boring topic, you can't ask for better. That's why you should always "take a fresh look at your auto insurance." But now down to the secret agent business that's coming soon to a city near you…

Hopefully, by the time you get this, you should have already seen me or heard some of my audio transmissions in a few places, like Las Vegas, Phoenix, Cleveland, Philadelphia, Seattle, and Orlando. I'll also be off to New York next week, to start an investigation concerning an art forgery. Those bad guys are at it again. In April, I'll probably interview some witnesses to the caper in California & Florida.

Be sure to keep in touch, & drop me a line on my secure email every now and then. Who knows, maybe we'll meet each other one of these days☺ Though I have a hunch we already know each other.

Oh, and one more thing…I know a few of my roving correspondents in the field have asked for some downloads here, particularly some of the recon photos of me on a mission. We'll try to make you happy with some cool things fairly soon. Keep scoping out this location!

Well, until the next time… remember, if you're on the go, you've gotta have Esurance!

Happy Spring, everyone.

Erin Esurance Agent Log – January 25, 2006 3 p.m.
Subject: A Very Busy New Year

It's been a while since my last report. (What's new?) Sorry about that. I know it makes my handler's job more difficult in keeping track of me. For that, I apologize. It's your job to keep me safe, and that's hard to do if I'm not keeping up with my reports. Since my last report from the field, I've been all around the country again, busy with my work at Esurance and busy with my "night job," secret agent.

Itemized report as follows:
1) Spent time in the mountains, boarding and investigating ongoing reports of tree-killing, paper-guzzling robots.
2) Went to a racing school, where I got re-certified in disaster driving and special evasive techniques.
3) Visited the Wild West out at our Special Investigations Unit target range, where I was supposed to brush up on my self-defense skills.

As always, I learned a lot—especially since it ended up not being "training" or "practice." The bad guys were hot on my heels, and showed up in every single location. As I can find secure channels, I'm broadcasting visual and audio reports for you. Please help me determine their identities and analyze any other clues you see there. Stay tuned to Erin Cam as I archive these updates.

In addition to the bad guys, OF COURSE, the mysterious stranger kept turning up. Again, he's always in the mood to talk about auto insurance from Esurance, where I work as a part of my deep cover.

Once, I got your call and answered an auto insurance emergency. OF COURSE, it turned out to be him AGAIN. He's got a nice apartment. He's very friendly, but he definitely seems to be hiding something. (Don't we all, I guess?)

You'll be able to take a look soon. I've gotten 60 seconds of film this time. And, I noted a communications device that transformed into a bar. He doesn't know I saw that. I tried to act a little nervous about what was going on, so he wouldn't know I'm on to him. (Though I actually was kind of nervous, because, as you know, he's starting to grow on me!) I will have to work even harder to find out whom he's really working for. If he's not on our side, he's dangerous. Hard to believe that, as he's always been so nice and helpful. I guess you just never know with people, do you? I shouldn't let my feelings get in the way of business though. If he IS a bad guy, he'll have to be captured and dealt with…just like the rest of ‘em.

Regarding my cover job at Esurance, I've even gotten to do some good there. I helped stop a hit-and-run incident right here in San Francisco! After work, this guy in a giant car was parking and repeatedly ramming into another car while trying to park. When he didn't leave his accident information, I followed him, and then politely informed him that he MUST leave his insurance information in case the other person needed to file a claim. Sometimes, I can't believe what people try to get away with.

As you can see, this year's already been busy, and it's only January! I'll broadcast more reports, and you should be seeing me around the country even more. My one resolution is to definitely write you more reports from the field! Be sure to keep in touch, & drop me a line on my secure email now and then. Maybe we'll meet each other one of these days, even though I know it's against the safety and security protocols.

Until the next time… remember, if you're on the go, you've gotta have Esurance!
