Erin Esurance Agent Log – November 16, 2005 2:13 p.m.
Subject: Contacts from the Field

Hello, HQ! Long time, no write. Sorry ‘bout that. I was out on top-secret SIU business, as discussed in my last communiqué.

As you know, I went all over the country. Think my cover may have been blown, as I met quite a few people who recognized me, especially in Denver. (I have always loved the Mile High City!) Thanks to everyone across the country—from New York to Texas to California, and all parts in between! I really appreciate the support you’ve shown me in person and via email. It means a lot to a busy gal like me.

Regarding my favorite topic: the mysterious stranger. I’ve been making some progress on the vocal analysis I mentioned previously. Some of our best technical people are reviewing my audio files and Erin Cam. I really wonder who that guy is?!?! I mean, I HAVE TO KNOW from a work perspective. (As a secret agent, you should be wary when someone keeps showing up all the time. Like I need to tell you that….)

I hope he’s not one of the bad guys. He’s been so nice when I’ve bumped into him. I really don’t think he’s one of the baddies. Or, I don’t want to think so…. He’s kind of…”cute,” for lack of a better, more spy-like word. I really shouldn’t even mention that in a report to you, HQ. Can’t help it.

But come on, it’s more than coincidental, isn’t it? And, he’s always talking about auto insurance!! Does anyone really do that? I mean, I’m fascinated by auto insurance because I work for Esurance, but I know that most people would rather get auto insurance and never think about it again.

Times I have seen him in random settings to refresh your memory (You can view these in the archive and I’ll be re-broadcasting some of them to jog your memory):

  1. I saw him when I bought that getaway car.
  2. I ran into him again when I was surfing at Ocean Beach.
  3. I made a quick getaway from those pesky bad guys and landed IN HIS APARTMENT, of all places.
  4. I bumped into him—literally—at a baseball game.
  5. And then, I saw him AGAIN when I was busy taking out that tree-killing robot.

If I do see him again, I’m going to play it cool, be friendly, and NOT draw attention to the fact that we keep meeting over and over again. The really eerie thing is, he sounds a lot like the same voice I hear when I send or receive audio transmissions.

Speaking of audio transmissions, when you get mine, make sure you listen closely for proper authentication. I’m not worried, I know you know who I am.

Anyway, there’s someone on the airwaves trying to act like a secret agent! Not doing a very good job of it, just probably one of the annoying bad guys up to their old tricks again.

How many times do I have to catch them trying to steal our trade secrets? I guess one more will have to do. Job security.

In other news, I’m staying closer to home for a while, but you still might see me all over the U.S. on shorter missions. I will definitely head up to the mountains soon. Think there may be enough snow for some boarding.

I’ve also gotten some rather sinister reports. Apparently, the bad guys are up there again! Eyeing more trees to cut down for all their insurance documents. As if their tree-killing robot wasn’t enough! Thank goodness for Esurance’s electronic documents. I’d hate to airdog where there’s no trees. (And, for all you boarders out there, I’m no Betty.)

Until my next report, you know the drill: drop me a line on my secure email. In the meantime, drive carefully, and remember: if you’re on the go, you’ve gotta have Esurance.

Subject: Lending a Hand & the "Voice"

Hi again, HQ! Been busier than ever, though lately, the excitement’s been coming from my day job—insurance agent at Esurance. Surprising, I know, but I’ve been helping out some great causes on Esurance’s behalf.

As you’ve probably seen, a lot of folks on our Gulf Coast need a big helping hand from each of us. Esurance has pitched in, matching our associates’ donations to hurricane relief and recovery dollar-for-dollar. Already, Esurance has raised thousands of dollars to help the Gulf Coast recover from Katrina. If you haven’t already, lend a hand to help recovery in whatever way you can!

In August, we also raised money for some other worthwhile causes, like Friends of the Urban Forest (FUF). Funds that Esurance raised for FUF will help plant more trees in San Francisco. Take that, you tree-killing, paper-eating robots!! (You remember that mission, don’t you? Where I looked into those weird reports? That’s when I discovered that other insurance companies use a ton of paper to send people insurance documents they could store online instead! If you don’t remember, take a look at ErinCam, where I save the day and save some green.)

So, hopefully, you’ve been listening to my latest audio files. I’ve been analyzing them a lot for clues about those bad guys that always seem to be after me when I’m my pink-haired special agent self!

But I’ve noticed something weird. And yes, I know I’ve said this before. Don’t think I’m crazy.

Doesn’t my handler’s voice in the audio files sound A LOT like that guy you keep seeing me bump into on ErinCam? You should have a listen too. Just to see whether I’m right or not. Let me know what you think. Can you get the analytics guys to review the recordings and compare for me? More to come…I’ll have to do more research, probably out in the field, but I know for sure I’ll see that guy again.

And again, I sound like a broken record, but you never told me who you were!!! I’ve heard you keep mentioning Esurance to everyone you meet, by the way. It’s a great company, and not bad at all for my deep cover assignment. We’ll have to figure out some way to reward you for telling everyone you know such good things about us.

Coming up…I’m going to be in the field for secret SIU work for a few weeks. Getting some really strange intel and have to look into it. Really strange. And that’s coming from a girl who’s battled a tree-killing, paper-eating robot!

Also, I’ll be taking a side trip to see Esurance plant some more trees in the Tampa area at the end of September. We gotta keep saving some green. If you see me there, I’ll be disguised, so please don’t break my cover and ruin my disguise! Though I’d really love to meet you, I cannot break my cover. Duty calls.

But maybe we will actually cross paths one of these days, mysterious stranger? I’ve almost given up on meeting you, but thanks, as always, for your help. I couldn’t do it without you, boss. Or should I say, bosses? How many people are reading this at HQ anyway?? I’m starting to feel shy, so I’ll sign off now.

In the meantime, as always, you can drop me a line on my secure email. Let me know what you think once you do the voice analysis.

Erin Esurance Agent Log – August 22, 2005 3:13 p.m. Subject: Odd Coincidences & the Tree-Killing Robot

Greetings, HQ. I knew that title would grab you! I’ve been REALLY, REALLY busy. But when you work for one of the fastest growing auto insurance companies in the U.S. during the day AND battle bad guys by night, I guess you can expect to be a little busy.

Audio transcripts of my most recent missions are now available. For some reason, many of my spy missions have related back to my day job—Esurance auto insurance agent! I go to crack a safe, or I decrypt a message, only to have the clue point to—you guessed it—Esurance. I’m beginning to think that those bad guys who keep chasing me around have something against Esurance.

One of my previous intelligence reports did relate to industrial espionage. What if they meant the auto insurance industry specifically? Hmmm…I’ll keep you posted, but I have a hunch that the competition doesn’t want word getting out about Esurance’s fast, easy affordable auto insurance.

Which makes me a little wary of that mysterious stranger who appears all the time. Not that he hasn’t been friendly! Sometimes, he’s even been helpful! That being said, a gal can never be too careful. Especially when she’s a secret agent. I’ll let you know more as soon as I do.

I see you’ve also got an audio transcript of my initial report from the field about that tree-killing robot! You’ve probably seen it on ErinCam, but I went back to the forest and took that thing out. That really "saved some green!!!!" I have no idea why other auto insurance companies need to use that much paper. Thank goodness for Esurance!

You know what’s weird? The voice in those audio files sounds awfully familiar. I wonder if I know that guy. Have a listen. What do you think? Sound familiar to you?

I know we’re never supposed to reveal our identities for our own safety, but I’d really like to meet you in person some time. I owe you a lot. You let me know where I need to go for operations, you tell me when the bad guys are after me, you make sure I always have the help I need. Who are you?

I’ll let it go. I guess I’ll just have to get used to mysterious, helpful strangers like you.

Thanks for everything! Until next time, as always, you can drop me a line on my secure email.

Erin Esurance Agent Log - June 23, 2005 1:17 p.m.
Subject: Lost Reel - FOUND

Hi again to all you folks at HQ. Hopefully, my report is getting to you sooner than my last one. It's tough writing these things when I have to deal with my day job (insurance agent) AND my evening work (ridding the world of bad guys). No complaints. As I always say, "duty calls."

My deep cover has been even more interesting than usual lately. The great auto insurance company I work at, Esurance, is always busy making the world safe for fast, easy, affordable auto insurance.

But lately, Esurance has been making the world even safer...by pitching in for some worthy causes. Like social services for urban youth, the fight against HIV-AIDS, and showing Pride in lots of locations across the country. (Please be sure to give a big hello to all our friends across the country, but especially everyone in Amarillo, Atlanta, Austin, Orlando, San Francisco, & Seattle!) And did I mention Esurance's efforts to support tree planting?? (That reminds me: I've got to research that weird report about forests disappearing.)

So, on to spy stuff. MYSTERY MAN: I promised to find the ErinCam archive tape so I could show you that cute guy. (I guess I should professionally refer to him as the mysterious stranger who appears everywhere.) Just to refresh your memory: as you know, for my secret agent gig, I'm usually keeping tabs on the bad guys. Obviously, this has gotten me into quite a few jams. All in a day's work!

Well, as you can see from the archive tape from ErinCam, I was looking into that helicopter-corporate espionage report I told you about last time. Suffice to say, I found that helicopter!!! That was a close one for sure! I narrowly escaped calamity by jumping in through the sliding door of some stranger's apartment...

Turned out, it was HIM—again!!!! He's pretty nice, but sure has a lot of questions about auto insurance. (Thankfully, I work at Esurance!) And, he has actually helped me out a few times now, so I don't think he's one of the bad guys-- but you never know...a girl in my line of work can't be too careful! That's why I pulled the archive tape. To show you how nice he was and maybe get your help identifying him. For official purposes only, of course.

He has a great apartment. Not that I got to stay long!!! That chopper showed up and I had to get gone. Jumped out the window. Think that probably gave the poor guy a heart attack! He seemed pretty calm throughout the whole thing, though. Surprising since I basically broke into his apartment and was being chased by maniacs in a weird whirligig machine. (On jumping out of windows: DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME. Luckily, I was equipped with my Jackpot-the-Cat backpack, the one that opens up into a handy escape chute.)

Anyway, I guess I feel guilty, as I kinda like him showing up all the time. It can be lonely being an insurance agent by day and a secret agent at night. I hope the fact that he's cute isn't clouding my judgment. I am a secret agent, after all. It's really weird that he keeps showing up all the time...as if our paths are meant to cross.

Kismet, I guess. Like I said, he's been nice so far. Even helpful! I know that more than a few of you think he's one of the bad guys, but he's had a few opportunities to do me wrong...and he hasn't. Really. PLEASE REVIEW THE TAPE before you say any more about him.

Well, as usual, if you have any input on the above topics, let me know. As always, you can communicate with me on my secure email.

FYI - I won't be at the office for a week or so. Top secret missions call me away. DEEP COVER. Have to visit a few baseball stadiums, disappear into the forest to check out the disappearing trees...may even have to do some racecar driving training abroad. If I don't get back to you right away, that's why. As always, I'll try to post answers to your questions here in my report.

Until we meet again, remember: if you're on the go, you've gotta have Esurance. And that also reminds me: I've never met you. Feel like I know you. When are we going to meet?

Erin Esurance Agent Log – April 22, 2005 12:45 p.m.
Subject: Spring Fever Broken with New Assignments

Hello from the field to all you folks at HQ, whoever you are. Hope I get to meet you in person someday. I know I've been slacking in sending my reports, but there's just way too much to do!

Plus…I'm pretty restless right now. The trees are in bloom, the blossoms are falling to the ground like snow…my mind only turns to “April in Paris.” So hard to be in an office on days like these. My green-thumb mom's probably starting to plant her garden now. But you don't want to know about all that!

Like always, I've been enjoying helping people with their auto insurance. (I know it's a geeky thing to say, but I really do!! Plus, insurance agent's my deep cover, remember?) You can see me doing my work when you buy your auto insurance policy online at Esurance. I can even help YOU.

Everyone out in the field's been great about getting in touch. Thanks for all of your emails! Here are some answers to the questions or comments I get sent most often:

  1. Thank you for all the offers, I'm flattered, really. Yes, I am single, but, unfortunately, I'm very intrigued by someone else. (That guy who keeps showing up everywhere. You can see him in Erin Cam. More on him below.)
  2. Esurance policies are for 6-month terms.
  3. My hair is hot pink when I color it, not red. (I'm an Aquarius, and hot pink's an Aquarian color, or so I learned from a wonderful astrologist who lived in Sedona, Arizona on one of my missions. Plus, I just love the color pink!) Naturally, my hair's chestnut brown, which you can see when I'm in my deep cover mode: Esurance insurance agent.
  4. Big thanks for all the compliments you send every day about Esurance. It really is surprising how easy it is to buy an auto insurance policy at Esurance, isn't it?

My restlessness will be over soon, I think. I'll have some new assignments coming up soon. The bad guys are getting busy again. Here's some of the big things I've heard through recon. All confirmed. (Sorry, but specific details and locations have to remain nameless at this time for security reasons!)

*Some reports of a strange helicopter-type device snooping for industrial secrets in a well-known urban center.
*A plot to steal home run balls and auction them for millions from several ballparks. (Hope I get to do lookout for that one! Baseball's my favorite sport, so that should be a great assignment.)
*Strange reports about hundreds of trees disappearing all at once from a well-known forest...cut down in giant swaths!!! Gotta look into that one & save green where we can!

Bad business. Keep your eyes glued to Erin Cam to see what happens when I investigate.

Okay, about that guy…Since my last missions, I haven't seen the man who's always turning up on Erin Cam. Guess he just hasn't been around lately?? I was getting kind of suspicious about always running into him, but he's so helpful and…cute!!!!! Hope I run into him again, and hope he's not a bad guy.

It's strange though, because I feel like he knows where I am before I get there. Double weird too, as I have been fully screened for all forms of tracking devices and taps, etc.

Let me know what you think…on any and all of the above. Send your advice to me on my secure email. I may not be able to answer personally, but I swear I'll read them all, and promise to at least answer you here.

Until next time, remember: if you're on the go, you've got to have Esurance.

Erin Esurance Agent Log Begins - February 25, 2004 12:11 p.m.

Hi SIU!

Not sure who I'm writing this to, but here goes… I've just gotten word that I have to keep track of what I'm up to for all you folks at HQ—my assignments, my cover, all of it. So here's the first of my entries. This feels weird. Never done this before.

Just got off the phone with my mom. She was asking me about her auto insurance policy. Not to sound corny, but it's nice to help people with something that can be as confusing and costly as auto insurance. Especially my sweet mom. I remember once, when I was a teenager, I got into an accident and it was SUCH a hassle! I missed the state pole vault championships my junior year in high school because someone else's insurance company was soooo unhelpful getting my car repaired.

Anyway, back to my latest missions…important thing to explain here—everyone in my family thinks I'm an insurance agent.

Well, actually, I am. Had to get my actual insurance agent license for deep cover purposes. That's why you'll see me helping you when you buy your Esurance policy! (By the way, when I'm working at my insurance agent job, I wear my hair brown. That's how you'll know when I'm working my cover. PLEASE DO NOT SHARE THAT INFORMATION WITH ANYONE. I trust you, that's why you have access to my files.)

Some of my old classmates at secret agent school got makeup company jobs as covers. I admit, at first, I was kind of annoyed, “Me??? I'm stuck with insurance??” Not the most glam cover for sure! But then, I realized how handy my cover actually was!!!

Come on, NO ONE will think to look for me at an insurance company. (I mean, honestly, if you think someone's a secret agent, the last place you'd look would be an insurance company, right?)

And, when I'm on a secret mission, I always get into MAJOR jams. My Esurance auto insurance sure comes in handy. I crash my car, bad guys crash into my car…you name it, it's happened to me!

Once, I had to buy a car to get away in a hurry and was only able to drive off the lot because I knew all about Quote. Buy. Print.® at Esurance! The car dealer guy was really cute—but such a stickler!! Could have been a little more helpful to a girl in need, for sure. You can check it out on Erin Cam-- they always have cameras on me that show all the action.

Weird thing is, I ran into him a few times after that. He's cute, so I like seeing him, but at the same time, I'm a secret agent, so I have to be careful about people…especially ones who keep showing up all the time. Once, I showed him how to get instant quote comparisons at Esurance. He seemed impressed with how fast and easy Esurance can be! (I'll try to find the tape so you can see that. I'd be interested in hearing what you think of him.)

I also have footage you can look at on Erin Cam from one of the other times I saw him. I was out at the beach, surfing and trying to relax a little. Well anyway, there he was-- AGAIN. I was surprised at how happy I was to see him. It seemed like he was going to ask me out, but, OF COURSE, those annoying bad guys HAD to show up. Even worse, they wrecked the cute guy's car! (I keep calling him “cute guy” because I had to go chase after them before I got his name.)

What do you think? Random encounter with a nice guy? Worth pursuing? Or not-so-random encounter with a not-so-nice guy? I'm counting on you to let me know. Send your advice to me on my secure email. I may not be able to answer, since I'm on the go, but I swear I'll read them all.

Until next time, remember: if you're on the go, you've got to have Esurance.
