Happy Birthday, Esurance!!

Ten years ago, on December 16, 1999, Esurance-dot-com was born at 4:00 p.m. Since the day the Web site first went live, we’ve seen success after success and reached milestone upon milestone.

As they say in spy school, “a rolling stone gathers no moss," and roll we did. With tenacity and true grit, we hung on through the dot-com bust and, after being purchased by White Mountains in 2000, managed to become one of the top names in online auto insurance.

Since the beginning, innovation’s been our middle name. With cool stuff like E-star vehicle repair monitoring, mobile claims service, and real-time underwriting verification, we’ve redefined the online auto insurance experience for our customers. Plus, with me as a spokesperson, how could we possibly go wrong?!

From one superstar to another, Happy Birthday, Esurance! Here’s to another amazing decade.

All About Trees

“Today's mighty oak is just yesterday's nut that held its ground." – David Icke

Climate Action Month is now holding its ground in Seattle and volunteers are lining up to plant and protect trees across the Pacific Northwest. But you don’t have to go nuts (or head to Seattle) to get in on the action. Just do a little something every day. Shorten your shower on Monday, stop by the thrift store on Tuesday… you get the idea. Get inspired here!

Now that you’re inspired and thinking about trees, let us plant one for you. Just tweet what you’d rather be doing than driving, add #esurance, and we’ll plant a beautiful tree in your name. The more tweets we get, the more trees we plant (up to 1,000). So get tweeting!

Remember, lots of amazing things start small. By doing just a little here and a little there, together we can make a mighty big difference.

Until next time,

--Erin

Road Trips, Volunteering, and Fame

Hi HQ!

Sorry for the gap between posts but I’ve been traveling all summer long with the Esurance Music Road Trip! Follow my route and see what all I’ve been up to.

Summer’s almost over but there’s still plenty of action in the works. EarthCorps’ Climate Action Month is coming up October 17 – November 21 in Seattle. If you happen to be in the area, volunteer! There are 14 local events to choose from, or you can do a little something every day by following our Daily Eco Tips (no matter where you are!). It’s going to be a fun month so be sure to check out all the action.

And by the way, not to brag or anything, but I was recently inducted into the Ad Icon Hall of Fame. Not bad for little ol’ me.

If you have news, super agents, drop me a line on my secure email.

More soon!

Make the Switch on March 28

Hi HQ!

Esurance is working with the World Wildlife Fund again this year to get folks to flip their switches for Earth Hour!

On March 28, millions of people around the world will turn off their lights and power down for one hour to show that we can all make a big difference when we do simple things together. Find out what you can do on March 28 and every day at: www.esurance.com/earthhour

As Esurance's way of saying thanks for taking the time to get informed, if you buy a new auto insurance policy, we'll offset your car's CO2 emissions for 6 months. Follow this link for all the info about this very special offer: www.esurance.com/earthhour

But don't delay! This offer is available for a limited number of eco-friends only.

Regardless of where you buy auto insurance, be sure to flip your switch on March 28! In addition to giving our planet a break, it's the perfect reason to stargaze or have a candlelit dinner with pals. (And who doesn't look better by starlight or candlelight?)

If you do anything groovy for Earth Hour, please let me know on my secure email.

Vote Earth!

Calling All Trekkies & Trekkers

Hi HQ!

First off, special agents, happy New Year! I hope your 2009 is off to a start that's out of this world.

To help your year blast off in the right direction, check out Esurance's new Star Trek site. You can see exclusive content from the latest Star Trek film, hitting theaters May 8.

If you're a real fan of Star Trek, I hope you'll accept a very important mission: Create a video of yourself explaining why you're the galaxy's biggest Trekkie, and you could be the luckiest person on Planet Earth. The person who submits the winning video will get a chance to attend the Star Trek premiere in Hollywood. Find out more about the contest.

Aside from the Galaxy's Biggest Trekkie contest – you can always send me your other updates on my secure email.

Live long and prosper!
