FAQ: Managing Your Esurance Account Online
How do I add a driver to or delete a driver from my auto insurance policy?
If you've just gotten married, congratulations! If you've just broken up, good riddance! And if Junior just got his driver's license, good luck! Regardless of why you need to add a driver to or delete a driver from your auto insurance policy, with Esurance making the change is easy!
After you log into your account, you'll see a summary of your auto insurance policy information. To remove a driver, or make other changes, just click on the "edit driver" button next to the list of drivers. You'll then be asked when you want your changes to be made effective. Once you choose a date, you'll see a summary of all your contact information, which you can then edit. If you need to remove a driver, just click the "remove" button next to his or her name.
Adding a driver to your account is just as easy. Simply click the "add driver" button and you'll be able to fill in information for the new driver on your policy. You can also edit driver information by going to the "Drivers" tab at the top of the page. If your premium increases due to this newest addition, you'll be charged an interim payment. We'll always send you an email before any payments are withdrawn, however.
Making other changes to your auto insurance policy is easy too when you have an account with Esurance! Whether you need to change your driver information or your car information, you can do it online anytime-- day or night. It will only take you a couple minutes to make the changes, and within 24 hours they will be processed and visible on your online account.
Although you'll probably want to tell your friends and family news about your life before you tell Esurance, we do encourage you to keep us up to date on important changes when they occur. You never know when this change could lead to a discount on your auto insurance policy. For instance, in many states Esurance offers a multi-car/multi-driver discount if you have more than 1 car and/or 1 driver on your auto insurance policy.
