How long does it take for changes to my auto insurance policy to go into effect?
When you have an auto insurance policy from Esurance you can make changes to your online account anytime you’d like. Even better, you don’t have to wait for us to mail you your new documents because you can access them all online. With Esurance, you can have your auto insurance policy at your fingertips.
Most changes to your auto insurance policy can be made online, simply by logging into your account. Before you begin editing your information, you’ll be asked when you’d like the changes to go into effect. You can choose anytime within the next 14 days for your changes to take effect.
It only takes a few minutes to make changes to your policy, and you’ll be able to print your temporary ID card right away. Your permanent ID card will be ready to print after 48 hours. Although changes to your auto insurance policy can take effect right away, it generally takes about 48 hours for updates to be made to your online documents.
If you’d like paper documents sent to you, we can do that too. Be advised, however, that there may be a small fee for this service. If you ever have difficulty accessing your auto insurance policy online, simply call the Esurance Customer Service Center.
